To fulfill the purpose of protecting environmental heritage and to establish mechanisms for complying with the Environmental Policy issued by the University’s Higher Council, the EMS has a functional structure that allows it to propose strategies and to implement actions with a scope that strengthens the institutional order from the different levels of the university.
This structure comprises:
- The General Vice President’s Office which leads the EMS as senior management.
- The National Coordination of Environmental Management, a body that coordinates and contributes to the orientation of proposals and recommendations.
- The National Technical Committee for Environmental Management, an advisory and consultative body on environmental matters.
- The Environmental Management Offices and the heads of Environmental Management on the campuses, which ensure an adequate balance in the implementation of strategic and operational aspects at campus level.
